Severne 2021 arrives at Water Nomads

Water Nomads 2021 Severne

Time flies, we are already well into November. Only 6 weeks and it’s Christmas! Well, for us, Christmas came early: we just received a big chunk of our new gear for 2021.

With New Zealand being closed for the foreseeable future, we are not expecting too many gear rentals from international travellers but rather the odd demo session from people already in the country. Hence we didn’t go all-out with our order…..

The Severne Blades are Severnes control oriented wave sail. With its 5 battens, it is stable and makes not only for a fantastic wave sail in gusty conditions, but also for a really good bump and jump sail in stronger winds. Our go-to sail in Auckland for those breeze days.
The Severne S1 are Severnes manoeuvre oriented wave sails. They are super light, still surprisingly stable and an absolute dream in any down-the-line conditions. Our pick for Taranaki!
As a special treat we did get 2 Blade Pros. Beautiful light weight, big wind range, and just a really nice sail all-round. Hard to describe with words, but it’s like the equivalent to a carbon boom. If you ever try one, you will never not want to have one!
Another new addition is the Dyno V3. The Dyno is a fast free-wave board and the current model seems to be very different to the Dyno V2. Though I only had one short session on it, so I’m  not yet ready to say much.
The free-ride gear is expected in 4-6 weeks time – watch this space!
