Taranaki Weekend Wave Trip

Are you keen on some wave action? Did you always want to go sailing at New Zealand’s world renown wave spot? You are unsure where exactly to go and what to look out for? Or just keen on great company to hang out with and share the stoke? Our Taranaki Wave Weekend is exactly what you’re looking for! We are inviting you to an all-expenses stay in New Zealand’s wave sailing paradise.

This is a weekend where Water Nomads spoil you with superb food, outstanding accommodation, and the introduction to the best local spots to sail. We show you how the conditions work around this fabulous mountain and provide all the tips you ever wanted. We share time with you on the water, brief you in all the hazards and take professional action shots of you on the water.

With its 270 degree exposure, the Taranaki coastline offers great conditions in nearly any wind direction. If there is no wind (what is unlikely but can happen) we will find a wave to go surfing / SUPing, go for a hike or check out one of the local surfboard / windsurf manufacturers.

If you don’t have the right gear or simply want to try something different let us know. Water Nomads can provide – by prior arrangement – board and gear rental on site.

Catering provided by local windsurfer and business owner, Katrin Dau – Mint Lunches.

Advanced instruction can be organised with local wave legend Spencer Lewis – Windsurf and Stand-Up Paddle Taranaki.
