PWA / IWT Omaezaki Japan World Cup 2023
Day 1 of the Omaezaki Japan Cup was a wild ride! The pro riders faced some challenging conditions, but they rose to the occasion and delivered some amazing performances.
Day 2 saw lighter wind and smaller waves, but there was still enough to run quality heats for the Youth and Masters Divisions. It’s great to see all the talent that has developed here in Japan, especially Omaezaki.
Day 3 at the Omaezaki Japan Cup the weather didn’t cooperate, but the spirit of the event never faltered.
Due to the lack of conditions forecasted, the remainder of the Omaezaki Japan Cup has been postponed until the closing ceremony on Tuesday.
Even though the conditions didn’t materialise for the rest of the event window, the women who competed on the first day of the 2023 Omaezaki Japan Cup absolutely crushed it!
A big congratulations to Motoko Sato for taking home the top prize.
Congratulations to the final 8 men who made it to the final rounds of the competition and are starting the PWA IWT Unified Wave World Tour in joint 1st place!
