What does it cost?
Prices vary, depending how long you are renting and what exactly you’re after. The longer you rent, the better the value. We offer the latest gear from Starboard and Severne that we replace every year. You can also add accessories like a harness, soft roof racks, lockbox etc.
One Board: The affordable option, saves on excess baggage fees, and you ride your own quiver of sails and rig.

One Board + One Sail: Keeping it simple. Perfect for the no compromise sailor, or you have limited travel space available.

How does it work?
- All our rentals are tailored to your needs. To help you find the right equipment, please click ‘Enquire now” and tell us about your gear needs and journey plans.
- We organise all desired equipment for you here in New Zealand.
- You just get here, pick it up, take it with you on your trip, unlimited use, having the best time!
All our boards are supplied with fins and board bag. Sails come complete with high quality carbon mast (at least 75% carbon), boom, extension and mast foot. So you’re good to go.
We recommend booking a month in advance of your requirement to ensure we are able to service your needs.

I came to New Zealand from Chile for a 2-month windsurf trip, and Water Nomads really helped me so much planning the journey and offering me high quality equipment! Heidi gave me excellent advice before I travelled over from England and recommended Lake Clearwater which is less than two hours drive from Christchurch. Water Nomads provided an excellent board and sails for my five days and there was wind every afternoon and beautiful surroundings. Heidi even sent me a video showing me all the boom and mast settings and downhaul rigging procedure. I hired a Bach via another website and went on my own whilst my wife played in a croquet tournament in Christchurch . I met friendly windsurfers on my first day and had an absolutely wonderful time.
