AXIS Foils and Foil Drive have collaborated on a solution that redefines integration, setting a new benchmark for clean hydrodynamics and effortless assembly: the AXIS Pocket Trench Board and the Foil Drive Integrated Mast system.
This release represents a significant step forward, moving away from bulky deck solutions toward a highly refined, performance-focused package.
The AXIS Pocket Trench Board: Less Drag, More Performance
The core of this innovation lies in the board itself. AXIS has introduced a patent-pending recessed pocket system—the Pocket Trench—designed to house the Foil Drive unit neatly beneath the deck, rather than carving out a wider trench that can disrupt water flow.
This design delivers two major advantages:
Smoother Hydrodynamics: By creating a narrower, snug cavity, drag is reduced, allowing the board to feel much like a regular, un-motorised foil board when you’re up and flying.
Uninterrupted Signal: Thanks to fibreglass reinforcement in the track zone and front deck, a common frustration in full-carbon boards—the loss of controller signal—is eliminated, ensuring reliable operation.
The board itself is built for efficiency, coming in a compact size (4’11” with 40L volume), making it super clean, lightweight, and incredibly responsive. Setup is made faster with a one-piece slider T-nut system, allowing you to simply drop, slide, and lock the foil into your preferred stance.
The Carbon Integrated Mast: Strength, Simplicity, and Speed
Complementing the board is the ultimate expression of Foil Assist technology: the Foil Drive Integrated Mast. Moving beyond the original aluminium design, this new version is crafted from advanced carbon composites in both High Modulus and Ultra High Modulus variants, blending maximum strength with minimal weight.

Cleaner Profile: All cables are routed internally, resulting in a clean, rock-solid setup that is fast to rig and looks incredibly sleek.
Optimal Motor Position: The Motor Pod is strategically positioned 15cm below the baseplate. This creates cleaner hydrodynamics and ensures ample mast length is free of the motor’s drag, resulting in the smoothest and most intuitive Foil Drive experience possible.
Reinforced Durability: Around the motor area, the mast’s chord has been expanded and the cavity reinforced with a denser carbon layup, delivering additional torsional strength for a setup that is stronger than ever before.
This 800mm mast is designed to simplify progression, offering SUP foilers easy paddle-ups and advanced riders the ability to chase unbroken swells offshore without sacrificing speed or the feel of a high-performance foil.
